The basic lifespan of a pellet mill is determined by the type of equipment and the material of its core components. The basic lifespan of a standard ring die pellet mill is 5-8 years. Using alloy steel ring dies and wear-resistant screws can extend this lifespan to over 10 years. However, integrated pellet mills used with floating feed extruders, which handle high-temperature (80-100℃) extruded materials, experience faster component wear and have a slightly shorter basic lifespan of approximately 4-7 years. Compared to pellet mills, extruders operate under constant high temperatures (120-160℃) and high pressures (3-6MPa), resulting in even shorter lifespans for their core components (screw, barrel), approximately 3-5 years. These components require regular replacement to avoid affecting the subsequent processing accuracy of the pellet mill.

The characteristics of raw materials and operational procedures also have a significant impact. When processing high-hardness, high-fiber raw materials (such as ore powder and straw powder), the wear rate of the pellet mill's ring die and pressure rollers accelerates, potentially shortening their lifespan by 30%-40%. If the raw material is not fully pulverized (particle size > 80 mesh) or contains excessive impurities, it will exacerbate impact wear on components and may even cause jamming, severely shortening the equipment's lifespan. When operating in conjunction with an extruder, excessively high discharge temperatures and severe material agglomeration in the floating feed making machine can lead to uneven feeding and localized overheating in the pellet mill, further accelerating wear and tear. Proper operation, such as uniform feeding and precise temperature control, can effectively extend the pellet mill's lifespan; conversely, improper operation may halve its lifespan.

Maintenance frequency determines the extent of lifespan extension. Daily cleaning, lubrication, and component calibration are key to extending the lifespan of the sinking fish feed making machine. Cleaning residual material from the ring die and pressure rollers after each day's operation, checking the lubrication system and adding dedicated lubricating oil weekly, calibrating equipment accuracy monthly, and replacing worn parts annually can extend the pellet mill's lifespan by 2-3 years. When maintaining the machine in conjunction with a sinking fish feed extruder, it is necessary to simultaneously check the sealing of the joints between the two to prevent high-temperature material leakage and corrosion of pellet mill components. Additionally, regularly clean the burnt material from the extruder die head to reduce the feed load on the pellet mill.
